Perry County Community Task Force

Helping today's youth become tomorrow's leaders

The theme of this year’s conference is “Chain Breakers.” For this year’s scholarship you can choose one of the following two topics to address:

1) What “chains” are holding you back in life and what steps do you need to take to ultimately get what you want out of the life?

2)Share your experience about the things that have held you back in the past and how you were able to break free from them.


There are two ways to submit an entry for this scholarship, however you may only submit one entry. The submission must be an essay of at least 500 words

-OR-

A video of you sharing or showing what “chains” are holding you back in life and what steps you need to take to overcome them. Video submissions must be between 1-3 minutes.

ELIGIBILITY
1. Applicants must be a resident of Perry County.
2. Applicants must be a Senior in high school.
3. Applicants must be planning to attend a post-secondary institution. This includes any 2- or 4-year college, trade school program, academy, ect.
4. Applicants must submit all requirements (application and essay/video essay) to the Perry County Community Task Force (via hardcopy or through website*) by 5:00pm March 31, 2025. Late entries will NOT be accepted.

Up to six winners will receive a scholarship in the amount of $500. The winners will be announced during the 2025 DEFY Project conference. The winner must be in attendance at the conference in order to receive the scholarship.**​​

*Scholarship requirements can be submitted by mail or brought to the Perry County Community Task Force office located at 21 S. Main St, Perryville, MO or all requirements can also be submitted online through the PCCTF website www.pcctf.org.

**Scholarship is to be paid directly to the recipient.
