In 2008 the LifeSkills Prevention Program was started.  The main purpose of this program is to provide the students with the kind of knowledge and skills that will enable them to become happier and more successful adults.  Also, making them aware of the various factors promoting substance abuse and how to deal with them as well as becoming more independent, self-confident, and satisfied with themselves, they will be less likely to yield to pressures to smoke, use drugs, or do anything that they do not really want to do.  These lessons are delivered in the classroom.  The eighth grade is generally the year the program is started in.  The first year is a 12 week program and the following lessons are what is covered during the class.
